Makayla
My Name is Makayla, I am 16-years-old, and I am a senior in high
school ready to graduate in May. I have been lucky enough to be
part of the DOVES program as a student for three years though
over the past two years I have also participated as a volunteer.
When I first came to DOVES I was really shy and not too sure of
being myself around people but now I have amazing friends, I can
laugh with people, and I look forward to being with people. I am a
photographer (which is why I love taking pictures for DOVES) and I
am so thankful to be a part of this program. I can relate to a lot of
kids who are scared because I was there at one point. Now I am
thankful to be able to work with Galli a beautiful HUGE amazing
horse. He has taken care of me and I love taking care of him. I
have been lucky enough to be partnered with a sweet young lady
and it makes me happy to see her smile when she accomplishes
things on her horse. I look forward to all that I can do through
DOVES and what happens to my personality and confidence
through DOVES.
